Definition
Variable Frame Rate (VFR) is a video recording mode in which the frame rate changes dynamically during recording — as opposed to a constant frame rate (CFR). VFR footage is commonly produced by smartphones and screen recording software and can cause audio sync issues when imported into video editing software. Creators are advised to use constant frame rate settings for professional productions to avoid editing complications.
