QR Code

Also known as:QRquick response code

Definition

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that encodes information — typically a URL — that can be scanned by a smartphone camera to instantly navigate to a destination. Invented in 1994 by Denso Wave for automotive manufacturing, QR codes became mainstream consumer technology during the COVID-19 pandemic. For creators, QR codes bridge physical and digital experiences: printed on merchandise, business cards, event signage, and video thumbnails to drive traffic to websites, landing pages, or social profiles. QR codes can be tracked with analytics when combined with tracking links.
