Line Spacing

Also known as:leadingline height

Definition

Line spacing (also called leading, from the typographic term) is the vertical distance between lines of text in a document, graphic, or on-screen layout. Proper line spacing improves readability, reduces eye strain, and contributes to the overall aesthetic quality of text-based content. In web design and graphic design, line spacing is controlled via CSS (line-height property) or design software settings. For creators producing thumbnails, slides, and social graphics, appropriate line spacing is a fundamental typography principle that separates professional-looking designs from amateur ones.
