Bandwidth refers to the maximum rate of data transfer across a network connection, typically measured in megabits per second (Mbps) or gigabits per second (Gbps). For creators, bandwidth is critical for live streaming (upload bandwidth), downloading large video files, and running cloud-based editing workflows. Insufficient upload bandwidth causes stream drops, buffering, and quality degradation. ISPs often advertise download speeds prominently while offering significantly lower upload speeds, which disproportionately affects streamers and remote content creators.
