Definition
A brand partnership structure in which the creator's compensation is tied to measurable outcomes — typically clicks, conversions, sales, or sign-ups generated by the content. Performance-based deals shift the risk from the brand to the creator: if the content does not convert, the creator earns less. For creators with highly engaged, purchase-ready audiences, performance deals can be more lucrative than flat fees. For most creators, however, flat fees provide more reliable income and should be the default negotiating position.
