Definition
On-location refers to video or photo production that takes place at a real-world setting — a specific venue, city, or environment — rather than in a controlled studio. On-location production adds authenticity, visual variety, and production value to creator content but requires additional planning for lighting, sound, permits, and logistics. Travel vlogs, documentary-style content, and event coverage are inherently on-location formats.
