Definition
A licensing agreement is a legal contract in which the owner of intellectual property (IP) — such as a video, song, image, or brand — grants another party the right to use that IP under specified conditions, for a defined period, territory, and purpose, in exchange for compensation. In the creator economy, licensing agreements govern how brands can use creator-produced content beyond its initial publication.
