Definition
A Community Guidelines Strike is a formal warning issued by YouTube when a creator uploads content that violates the platform's Community Guidelines. Each strike carries escalating consequences: the first strike results in a one-week restriction from uploading, going live, or creating custom thumbnails; the second strike within 90 days results in a two-week restriction; the third strike within 90 days results in permanent channel termination. Strikes expire after 90 days of good standing. Creators can appeal strikes they believe were issued in error. Accumulating strikes is one of the primary ways channels lose monetization eligibility or get terminated entirely.
