Color Space

Also known as:Color GamutColor Profile

Definition

A specific range of colors that can be represented in a digital image or video, defined by a mathematical model. Common color spaces in creator production include sRGB (standard for web and YouTube), Rec. 709 (broadcast HD standard), Rec. 2020 (HDR/4K), and Log formats (S-Log, C-Log) used in cinema cameras for maximum dynamic range in post-production. Understanding color space prevents color shift when exporting videos.
