Channel Memberships are available to channels with 500+ subscribers and represent a recurring revenue stream that is not dependent on ad performance. For creators, memberships are a step toward building a subscription-based business model within the YouTube ecosystem, though the revenue split (70% creator, 30% YouTube) is less favorable than independent membership platforms.
